The excursion begins at Mount Sima Ski Hill, where travelers meet their guide inside the rental shop to gear up. Here, proper snowshoes are selected and fitted for the day. Travelers must arrive dressed in warm, insulated layers, winter footwear, and snow pants, as outer cold-weather clothing is not included.
After getting geared up, travelers board the tour vehicle for a scenic drive along the Alaska Highway to the trailhead, located roughly 40 to 60 minutes outside Whitehorse.
Upon arrival, participants strap on their snowshoes for a guided 2-hour trek through the Boreal forest. The moderate-difficulty trail features some elevation gain near the end, requiring a basic level of fitness and comfort on snowy terrain. Along the route, your guide stops periodically to share insights into the regional flora and fauna, offer photo opportunities, and serve warm, energizing winter tea.
