Operating in Madeira’s rich coastal waters, this trip focuses primarily on big game fishing, targeting a variety of species depending on season and conditions. Species include blue marlin, white marlin, bluefin tuna, and more. With guidance from the experienced crew, fish productive spots using proven techniques and professional equipment.
Set sail from Funchal Marina aboard the Balancal, a purpose-built sport fishing vessel, fully equipped and upgraded in 2025 with new twin 300hp engines. The boat features modern navigation and fishing technology. The vessel comfortably accommodates up to 6 anglers, with a maximum capacity of 10 passengers plus 2 crew.
Our experienced skipper and first mate are both highly experienced Madeiran anglers who grew up fishing local waters. Both have assisted in landing numerous grander fish.
Enjoy the thrill and adrenaline of landing a big game fish and take in the stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean.

Meeting point is located in the recently refurbished marina do Funchal. Located across the road from McDonald's and next door to the GNR office.

What to expect
Upon departure, our crew will head out to active fishing grounds scanning and perform trolling with high-quality lures in order to attract big game fish.
If a big game fish strikes, our first-mate will guide you to the pompanette fighting chair, ensuring your safety and comfort. The duration of the fight depends on the specie; expect at the very least 30 minutes.
After the duration of the trip is complete. The crew will return back to the marina do Funchal.
