Meeting and pickup
3rd floor of the building opposite Family Mart store, Next to Crossing of Muromachi st and Bukkoji st. ZEN Calligraphy Kyoto: 3F 528 Hakurakuten-cho, Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto. 3-min walk from Shijo station or Karasuma station/15-min from Kyoto station by taxi or Subway line.
What to expect
You don't need any previous experience. Your instructor wil guide you step by step, from holding the brush and making basic strokes to creating your own finished artwork. But this is more than simply learning how to write Japanese.
We wil talk about you, your name, your interests, and the things that are important to you. Together, we wil choose a Japanese kanji character that represents your story.
You wil practice it with traditional brush and ink and create your final artwork on a beautiful shikishi board. Take your original
artwork home as a special memory of Kyoto.
