What to expect

Spend 1.5 hours on the water near the Witless Bay Ecological Reserve, where thousands of Atlantic puffins gather during the nesting season. In a small-group setting, watch puffins fly overhead, swim alongside the vessel, and return to their burrows while learning about their behavior and habitat from a knowledgeable wildlife expert. After returning to shore at dusk, take part in a two-hour guided wildlife conservation activity: the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society's Puffin Patrol program. Search for stranded pufflings, learn safe handling techniques, and help these young seabirds continue their journey to the ocean under expert guidance. Throughout the experience, gain insights into Atlantic puffin biology, migration, and conservation challenges. This hands-on activity combines wildlife sightseeing, education, and meaningful conservation participation, with a portion of proceeds supporting local conservation efforts.
