What to expect
Step into Cité Bourgogne, one of Shanghai's historic Shikumen residential lanes in the former French Concession, and discover China through a 90-minute sensory tea journey.
Forget everything you think you know about tea tasting. You won't be given a list of teas to memorize or asked to follow a formal tea ceremony.
Instead, you'll taste three Chinese teas blind. Your perceptions become the starting point for discovering the story behind each cup.
Along the way, you'll travel through different regions of China, encounter the people and traditions behind the teas, and discover how geography, infusion, craftsmanship and everyday culture influence flavour.
The experience takes place in the atmospheric setting of Cité Bourgogne, allowing you to discover a lesser-known side of Shanghai while exploring one of China's most fascinating cultural traditions.
No previous knowledge of tea is required. Just bring your curiosity.
