The Silk Road and its trek through deserts and hills had long been the tale of Dunhuang and West China, lasting thousands of years. Now...it goes further and further. This short journey will take you across the essence of Dunhuang-- from the Tower of Prometheus(CSP Station)to the Crecent Moon Spring, and from the 1,900 year-old tomb to one of the most important temples in China, you will stand beneath the starry sky, and truly know how we harness the future and the past.

In the morning, visit the Dunhuang CSP Plant, which is also known as the "Super Mirror" power station. Being China's largest molten salt solar thermal plant, it's an engineering marvel you can actually visit and experience. The plant's core is a field of 12,000 computer-controlled mirrors shattering Tyndall effect at daytime. The plant also uses molten salt to store solar energy as heat, allowing it to generate electricity 24 hours a day.
In the afternoon, explore the West Jin Dynasty Tomb Site to learn about the history of Silk Road. Go an advanture deep down the tomb, and see how ancient Chinese people build their afterlives.
After the tomb visit, check out the oldest temple in Dunhuang--Leiyin Temple. Being one of the origins of Chinese Buddha culture, it has stood here for thousands of years and witnessed the rise and fall of the silk road. Listen to the monk sing buddism lectures, and enjoy your inner peace.
In the evening, climb up to the Mingsha Shan to listen to the echoing sand. Watch the sunset while singing together with the crowd.
At night around 9 p.m, take part in the star observation activity when the weather is fine. Take spectacular galaxy picture with you standing beneath it. Learn the constellation story with the teacher, and use a telescope to see the deep space.
