Discover Malta’s spectacular scenery and historic towns on a carefully planned small-group tour with a maximum of just six guests.

Begin at picturesque Wied iż-Żurrieq, home to the famous Blue Grotto. Weather permitting, enjoy an optional 25-minute boat trip through the grotto and neighbouring sea caves, renowned for their brilliant blue waters.

Travel through the beautiful Girgenti Valley, passing orchards, traditional farmsteads and historic Girgenti Palace, before reaching the dramatic Dingli Cliffs, rising up to 200 metres above the Mediterranean.

Continue to Rabat, with its Roman heritage and connections to St Paul, and stop to taste traditional pastizzi, Malta’s much-loved flaky pastries.

Finally, explore magnificent Mdina, the Silent City. Wander through atmospheric medieval streets, admire its Baroque architecture and impressive fortifications, and enjoy sweeping views from the ancient bastions.

    Drive to the south west, en route passing the valley leading to the picturesque Wied iz-Zurrieq, and the Blue Grotto.

    Blue Grotto

    Walk to the boat departure point, which is a short but steepish descent. Here you will board small 9-seater boats for a boat trip along the coast and around the stunning caves.

    As we travel through the fertile, green Girgenti Valley, we will pass the old Inquisitors Palace as we make our way to the west coast.

    Dingli Cliffs

    Stretching for some 4km along the west coast are the Dingli Cliffs. These cliffs have vertical or near-vertical rock faces rising from the sea to heights of up to 200m above sea level. We still stop at Mary Magdalene Chapel, which sits on the cliff edge and offers the ideal viewpoint for a panoramic photo stop.

    Continue our drive through Dingli, a charming rural village in Malta, known for its peaceful countryside and traditional character,

    Rabat

    Our next stop is the historic town of Rabat, where you can stroll through its charming old streets and admire traditional houses, alleys, and balconies. We’ll stop at a famous local eatery to taste Malta’s favourite street food, the delicious pastizzi, filled with either peas or ricotta.

    Our historical walk continues through the enchanting medieval city of Mdina, Malta’s former capital and today known as the Silent City, where we explore its narrow streets, charming alleys, magnificent Baroque buildings and impressive bastion walls while enjoying far-reaching views across the island.
