Come and spend two unhurried hours with our horses at the Deeper Land Sanctuary, an animal sanctuary in the Alentejo.
Private Horse-Sessions:
This is not a riding lesson or conventional horse activity. It is an invitation to step away from the stimulation of everyday life and discover what becomes possible when we simply spend time with another living being.
These guided sessions explore connection with horses through meditation, presence, observation, reflection and gentle interaction.
Depending on your interests, you may meditate with the horses, explore how they communicate and how we can respect their boundaries, or connect through brushing and gentle massage.
The session can be adapted to you and your interests. We encourage you to slow down, observe more deeply and become curious about what the horses are communicating.
No previous horse experience is needed.
This is not about doing something with a horse. It is about discovering what it feels like to simply be with one.

What sets this experience apart is that the horses are completely free to choose whether and how they want to participate. The experience is based on relationship, trust and mutual choice.
THE ENTIRE SESSION IS GUIDED - Depending on your interests, the SESSION MAY INCLUDE:
MEDITATION WITH THE HORSES - slowing down & becoming aware of your breath, body, & being present. OBSERVATION & LISTENING - learn how horses communicate through subtle signals. EXPLORING RELATIONSHIP - reflecting on trust, boundaries & expectations. BRUSHING & GENTLE MASSAGE - connecting through touch.
Being with the horses is also an opportunity to step out of the stimulation of everyday life and reconnect with yourself. This is not another experience to consume or rush through. It is an invitation to pause, observe and listen and give yourself time and space.
FOR FAMILIES AND CHILDREN:
Children can discover animals from a place of curiosity and respect. Learning to approach gently and recognise that another being has its own wishes, boundaries and way of communicating.
