Then you'll head to the coral lab behind it all, where you'll see exactly what it takes to keep this reef alive.

    Start your day at Sosúa Diving Center, right on La Puntilla in Sosúa. Meet your certified guide, get fitted with snorkel or dive gear, and go through a full safety briefing so you know exactly what to expect once you're on the water. This is also where you'll meet the rest of your small group before heading out to the boat.

    After returning to shore, transfer to Isla Academy, home to the coral lab connected to Atabey. Refuel with fresh tropical fruit and water, then get a behind-the-scenes look at the work involved in caring for and protecting Sosúa Bay's reef ecosystem. The visit wraps up with photos to take home from the day.

    Sosua Beach

    Board the boat and sail out into Sosúa Bay to Atabey, a 16-foot underwater sculpture wrapped in a living coral garden. With your certified instructor by your side, snorkel or dive around the site, getting an up-close look at both the sculpture and the coral growing around it. The spot is suited to every level: snorkeling works for complete beginners, while diving is available for certified divers.
