Spend a day like a Xiamen local. Morning: wander seaside campuses and red-brick neighborhoods, see the “suit-and-straw-hat” Kah Kee buildings, hear Tan Kah Kee’s overseas-Chinese story, breathe the sea and the old port’s human warmth. Eat where families eat — satay noodles, oyster omelet, steamed seafood. Afternoon: slow down — kung-fu tea, a spa unwind, or feel China speed: fit glasses in the morning, pick them up by evening. No flags, no rush, just island life.

    Jimei School Village

Jimei Academic Village: a century-old seaside school town built by patriotic overseas Chinese leader Tan Kah Kee. Red-brick Kah Kee buildings, Dragon Boat Pond, ocean breeze, and a slower side of Xiamen most visitors never see. Leave the tourist crowds behind and step into Jimei Academic Village — a seaside education town founded by Tan Kah Kee from 1913. Stroll Dragon Boat Pond, where arched bridges and green-tiled school buildings reflect on the water. See the famous Kah Kee architecture: Western colonnades under Chinese swallow-tail roofs, “a Western suit with a Chinese straw hat.” Quiet, local, and full of old-school Xiamen atmosphere — plus a nearby seaside bike lane if you want to feel the wind. After the walk, we head to a local seafood restaurant where our own family eats. Xiamen is a historic fishing port — satay noodles, oyster omelet, steamed seafood, ginger duck. We order, explain each dish, and eat together like friends.

The afternoon is yours to shape. After lunch, choose how you'd like to slow down:(optional add-ons, require extra time beyond the 4-hour base tour, and can be decided on the day.) Tea House Session — We take you to a proper local tea house (not a performance, the real thing). Sit, sip premium tieguanyin or da hong pao, learn how locals brew and "talk big" (话仙). A calm, grounding way to digest. Slow Spa & Wellness — Transfer to a trusted local bath and massage center. Buffet meal, full sauna/shower access, then a 60–90 min massage (foot reflexology, full-body aromatherapy, or deep-tissue. And if you'd like, you could enjoy the buffet dinner in the place after the treaments). We stay with you, translate everything, make sure pressure and oil are exactly what you want. Walk out floating.

Same-Day Glasses — Shop the World's Eyewear Capital Most travelers don't realize this: China produces the majority of the world's eyeglass frames and lenses. Xiamen sits inside one of Asia's best eyewear supply chains. If you need new glasses — or just want a backup pair — this is the place to do it. How it works: Tell us before your tour. We'll reserve time and confirm with the optician. Morning appointment. We take you to a legitimate, professional shop we've vetted. Full exam (or bring your prescription). Browse hundreds of frames — designer, titanium, acetate, rimless — at prices that will surprise you. We translate and consult. We explain lens index, coatings, blue-light filter, photochromic options. Help you pick frames that actually suit your face shape. No pushy sales, no commissions — we're on your side. Evening pickup. Single-vision lenses are often cut and assembled the same day. We'll either take you back to collect before dinner, or arrange delivery to your hotel.
