During whale season (June to November), witness the magnificent Southern Right whales as they migrate to South Africa’s coastline to mate and calve. You may also spot Humpback and Bryde’s whales, dolphins, Cape fur seals, African penguins and a variety of seabirds. Enjoy a scenic drive along the breathtaking Cape Whale Coast, passing the Hottentots-Holland Mountains before arriving in the charming seaside town of Hermanus. Enhance your experience with optional add-ons, including lunch at a seafront restaurant overlooking Walker Bay or a visit to the African penguin colony at Betty’s Bay. The great season for whale viewing is in between May to November. Although one can cone across whales randomly on coastal drive, seeing them next to you on boat tours in the ocean is amazing.

Betty’s Bay has a penguins colony. The location is great and the numbers of penguins are large. This is another add on experience.
