The tour ends atop Pincio Hill, overlooking Piazza del Popolo.
We’ll meet up in the square just as the city is rubbing the sleep from its eyes. Right at the center is Bernini’s stunning Triton Fountain. Before we head off, we’ll set the scene with stories of the artists, eccentric popes, and travellers who came to Rome centuries ago chasing a dream—much like we are today.
From there, we’ll take a gentle walk up Via Veneto. If you've ever watched Federico Fellini's La Dolce Vita, this street needs no introduction. It was the absolute playground of Hollywood stars, paparazzi, and artists in the 1950s and 60s. As we stroll, we’ll point out the legendary cafés where film stars used to sip their morning espresso, and you can practically hear the vintage Vespas buzzing in the background.
Next, we’ll leave the paved streets behind and wander into the peaceful, shady paths of Villa Borghese. Walking under those giant, classic Roman umbrella pines feels like stepping right into an old watercolour painting. It’s the perfect spot to slow down, chat, and practice a little bit of il dolce far niente—the sweet art of doing absolutely nothing.
We’ll finish our morning at the Pincio Terrace, which offers what might be the most romantic viewpoint in the entire city. Looking down over the sprawling Piazza del Popolo and the sea of domes stretching all the way to St. Peter’s, you’ll get to see Rome exactly the way the poets did. It’s a view you’ll want to sit with for a while, and the morning light makes for some incredible photos.
