Our guided tour includes a visit to Valletta, Malta’s capital city, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and European Capital of Culture in 2018. Situated at the crossroads of the Mediterranean, the entire city of Valletta is testimony to the grandeur of the Knights of St. John who founded and embellished it. Free time is available for lunch, which is not included in the price of the excursion. From Valletta, we proceed to visit the fortified medieval city of Mdina, Malta’s former capital city. Different styles of architecture, from Siculo-Norman palaces to baroque buildings of great historical importance, reflect Mdina’s chequered
history, abound. A breathtaking view of a large area of Malta can be enjoyed from Mdina’s imposing bastions.

La nostra escursione, con vista guidata, inizia con La Valletta, città patrimonio dell’Unesco nonché capitale europea della cultura nel 2018. Situata strategicamente nel cuore del Mar Mediterraneo, la citta’ di La Valletta e’ la testimonianza tangibile della grandezza e della storia ultracentenaria dei cavalieri di San Giovanni, i quali la fondarono e abbellirono. Appena entrati in citta’, si e’ subito catturati dalla maestosita’ del palazzo del Parlamento, un gioello architettonico contemporaneo progettato dall’illustre architetto italiano Renzo Piano. Tempo libero e quindi disponibile per il pranzo (non incluso nel prezzo). La Valletta offre una vasta gamma di ristoranti tra cui scegliere. Dopo la sosta ci si dirige ai giardini dell’Upper Barracca, da cui si puo’ ammirare una vista mozzafiato del Grande Porto e delle sue maestose fortificazioni che hanno avuto un ruolo importantissimo nella storia maltese.

Da Valletta ci dirigiamo a visitare la citta’ medievale di Mdina, vecchia capitale di Malta. Passeggiando per le vie della citta’, si viene catturati dai differenti stili architettonici dei palazzi che le circondano. Dagli edifici siculonormanni passando per opere barocche fino ad arrivare ai bastioni conquistati dal panorama fantastico da cui si puo’ scorgere la gran parte dell’Isola
