As we travel deeper south, we will pass through Erfoud, widely known as the "Gate of the Sahara" and famous for its unique fossilized marble.

Merzouga
We arrive in Merzouga, the charming desert village nestled right at the foot of the monumental Erg Chebbi sand dunes. You will check into your traditional hotel. You will have the rest of the day to relax by the pool, unwind from your journey. The day concludes with a freshly prepared, authentic Moroccan dinner served at the hotel.

Day2: Merzouga- El Khamlia - Rissani - Erg Chebbi: Night at desert Camp

Musica De Gnawa, Khamlia
We begin our desert exploration in the village of Khamlia. Renowned for its community of Gnawa musicians whose ancestors migrated to Morocco from Sub-Saharan Africa, this stop offers a beautiful glimpse into the region’s rich cultural heritage. You will be welcomed with traditional Saharan music, spiritual rhythms, and dance. Tips for the musicians are appreciated.

Next, we visit a nearby lush oasis, where you can admire the stunning contrast of rich green palm trees and active local crops thriving directly against the arid, dry desert landscape. Learn how the locals manage water in this extreme environment.

Rissani
We journey to Rissani, the historical first capital of the Alaouite Dynasty and a highly important cultural hub. We will explore some of its ancient clay kasbahs and wander through the famous, bustling local market. This lively souk is where desert traders gather from all over the Sahara to sell spices, handwoven crafts, and livestock (including the famous donkey market).

Rissani Market
While in Rissani, you will sit down for a memorable lunch to try the local specialty dish: Madfouna (traditional Berber Pizza). This unique, delicious stuffed bread is packed with savory meats, spices, and almonds, then baked to perfection inside a traditional clay oven. (Lunch cost not included)

Erg Chebbi
In the afternoon, you will head into the spectacular dunes of Erg Chebbi. You will arrive and check into our traditional desert camp where you can enjoy your evening desert activities. Walk up the golden dunes for a magnificent sunset, enjoy the camel ride & traditional Saharan dinner, and gather around the campfire for live Berber drumming under a spectacular canopy of stars.

Day 3
Day3: Merzouga/Todra gorges /Dades Valley/Ouarzazate

Boumalne Dades
passing through Boumalne Dades, we continue to the dades valley. Stops at the "monkey fingers" rock formation are unavoidable. then on to a stop on a mountaintop with a view of the Dades valley. Finally, supper and a hotel stay.

Erg Chebbi
Wake up early to catch a breathtaking, magical sunrise over the monumental Erg Chebbi dunes—a bucket-list moment. After taking beautiful photos, you will return to the camp to freshen up and enjoy a delicious freshly prepared breakfast. Once ready, our professional team will guide you to your vehicles as we prepare to set off on today's road trip.

Todra Gorge
We depart the desert region and head toward the spectacular Todra Gorges. Here, the High Atlas Mountains drop off dramatically into a deep limestone canyon where sheer rock faces rise up to 300 meters on either side of the cold Todra River. You will have plenty of time to stretch your legs, take scenic photos, and explore the narrowest parts of the majestic gorge on foot.

Dades Gorges (Pass by)
Next, we travel through the rugged, picturesque Dades Valley. As we wind along the roads carved directly into the red cliffs, you will pass ancient kasbahs, striking rock formations (often called the "monkey fingers"), green agricultural fields, and traditional clay Berber villages nestled along the riverbank.

By evening, we arrive in Ouarzazate, the cinematic capital of Morocco, famous for hosting massive international movie sets. You will check into your local hotel, unwind from the day's scenic drive, and enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner at your lodging.

Atlas Studios
After breakfast at your hotel, our morning begins with an exploration of Ouarzazate’s legendary cinematic landmarks. We will visit the famed Atlas Film Studios, one of the largest movie studios in the world. Walk through real standing sets where massive Hollywood blockbusters and hit TV series like Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven, and Game of Thrones were brought to life. Entrance fee is around 110 MAD per person. The visit is optional, you can stay inside the vehicle.

Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah
Next, we take a short drive to the iconic, UNESCO World Heritage-listed Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. This ancient, fortified clay and stone village is an architectural masterpiece of southern Moroccan design. Following a delicious lunch break at a local restaurant overlooking the river, you will have plenty of time to explore its winding alleyways, step inside the old structures, and climb to the granary at the very top for magnificent panoramic views over the surrounding valley. Entrance fee is around 30 MAD per person.

Tizi n Tichka
We then begin our spectacular mountain crossing through the High Atlas range, climbing to the impressive Tizi n’Tichka Pass at an altitude of 2,260 meters. Along this winding scenic route, your driver will make several carefully selected photo stops so you can capture the dramatically shifting scenery—including sweeping mountain peaks, terraced agricultural fields, traditional clay Berber villages built into the hillsides, and small seasonal waterfalls.

Marrakech
We aim to arrive in the vibrant city of Marrakech by late afternoon, typically around 6:00 PM (subject to local mountain and city traffic conditions). Drop-off details: If you are staying deep inside the car-free historic Medina, your driver will drop you off safely at the main entrance of Jemaa el-Fnaa Square or the closest accessible point so you can easily reach your Riad. If your hotel is outside the old city or accessible by main roads, you will be dropped off directly at your hotel door.
