  Parque Nacional Canon del Sumidero

  Explore Sumidero Canyon and begin your 2-hour boat ride along this majestic canyon. Admire the walls towering 2,500 feel above you and also see amazing waterfalls, caves and even spot monkeys, birds and crocodiles. Your journey begins with a comfortable, scenic drive descending from the highlands into the Grijalva River valley. Upon arrival at the riverbank, board a covered speedboat for a thrilling 2-hour guided boat cruise through the canyon. As you navigate the winding river, you’ll look up at sheer limestone cliffs soaring over 1,000 meters (3,300 feet) above you. Keep your camera ready—this protected ecosystem is home to wild American crocodiles, spider monkeys swinging in the canopy, and colorful native birds. You’ll also witness unique geological formations, including the famous "Christmas Tree" (Árbol de Navidad) waterfall draped in moss.

  Chiapa de Corzo

  Once you are done with the ride, you'll board your vehicle and drive to the Magic town (Pueblo Magico) of Chiapa de Corzo. This colonial city was founded by Spanish conquistadores. You'l'l enjoy a 2-hour visit here and have time to explore the town, walk around and, if you wish, enjoy a typical dish of the region. See the city's central fountain to admire the outstanding mudejar-style brickwork and surroundings such as the portals with colorful crafts for sale.

  Miradores Canon del Sumidero

  Discover one of Mexico’s most jaw-dropping natural marvels from two completely different perspectives: at river level between vertical cliff walls, and high above from dramatic mountain lookouts. Departing directly from San Cristóbal de Las Casas, this full-day guided adventure takes you into the heart of Sumidero Canyon National Park for an unforgettable combination of eco-adventure, wildlife spotting, and regional culture. After returning to land, gain a brand-new perspective as we drive up the winding mountain roads to the rim of the canyon. You will visit at least 3 of the park’s primary panoramic viewpoints (Miradores), including the famous Mirador Los Chiapa—the highest and most breathtaking lookout point along the gorge. Standing at the edge, you’ll get postcard-worthy photos, watch vultures soaring at eye level on thermal updrafts, and appreciate the immense scale of the canyon from high above.
