Amsterdam : Evening Cruise departure from Anne Frank house

1 hour (approximately)
Offered in: German and 6 more

No unlimited drinks package on this cruise, and that's the point. No stag parties, no cocktail queues. Just relax and take in the city from a near-silent electric boat on this evening cruise.

See Amsterdam at its most atmospheric, as the city lights up for the evening. Step aboard our panorama boat and cruise through Amsterdam's UNESCO canal ring as illuminated bridges, centuries-old canal houses and cozy houseboats come into view.

Your skipper shares local stories throughout the cruise, and an audio guide is available to download on your smartphone in 8 languages (Dutch, English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese and Chinese).

The boat is heated for cooler evenings, the glass rooftop closes when it rains, and there is a toilet on board.

• Dutch and English are standard commentary, other languages can be listned to via a QR code to be scanned by your phone. Your own phone will have the commentary. Please make sure you have a enough battery and earphones with you.

Itinerary

Duration: 1 hour (approximately)
  • Canal Ring (Grachtengordel) (Pass by)

From the boat you will glide along Amsterdam's UNESCO-listed Canal Ring, built during the 17th century Dutch Golden Age. We sail along the three main canals — Herengracht, Keizersgracht and Prinsengracht — lined with narrow merchant houses showing the city's classic stepped and bell gables, ornate sandstone facades and original hoist beams still in use today. You will see the famous Seven Bridges view on the Reguliersgracht, pass beneath dozens of stone arch bridges, and float past traditional Dutch houseboats moored along the quays. Look out for the Westerkerk spire, the Anne Frank House, and grand canal mansions once owned by wealthy spice and silk merchants. Our skipper points out the best photo spots and shares stories about Amsterdam's maritime trading past, the engineering behind the canal system, and how locals live on the water today.
