Stop at Blackrock Castle Observatory, one of Cork Harbour's most recognisable landmarks. Originally built to help defend the harbour, the castle now combines history, science and some of the best views on the route. Take time to explore the castle grounds, capture photos by the waterfront and, when open, climb the tower for panoramic views across Cork Harbour and the River Lee.

Visit the area around Páirc Uí Chaoimh, home of Cork GAA and one of Ireland's leading sporting venues. Surrounded by riverside walkways and green spaces, this is the perfect place to learn about hurling, Ireland's national sport. You'll have the opportunity to see a hurley up close and, if you wish, try a few basic hurling skills while learning about Cork's proud sporting traditions. Along the way, you'll also pass Cork's historic rowing clubs on the banks of the River Lee.
