This hiking experience explores Fox Canyon and the Sol de Mayo waterfall, one of the most unexpected natural landscapes in Baja California Sur. Far from the beaches of Los Cabos, the route leads into the Sierra de la Laguna, where desert terrain, rock canyons, freshwater pools, and hidden oasis scenery create a completely different side of Baja.
The hike combines moderate walking, canyon landscapes, swimming opportunities, and scenic desert drives through Santiago and the surrounding mountains. Along the trail, guests move through rocky terrain surrounded by cactus forests, granite walls, and flowing freshwater hidden deep inside the canyon.
After the hike, the experience continues with lunch at a local Baja-style restaurant, creating a full-day adventure that blends nature, movement, local culture, and the quieter landscapes beyond the coastline.

Meeting and pickup
• Complimentary round-trip transportation is available from hotels in Cabo San Lucas, San José del Cabo, and the Tourist Corridor
• If your hotel is not listed, feel free to contact us so we can check transportation availability for your area
• Guests arriving with their own vehicle may meet at Plaza Gali OXXO in Cabo San Lucas or Mega in San José del Cabo depending on their hotel location
• Hotels outside the main tourist area, including Hard Rock, Nobu, Rancho San Lucas, Diamante, or Four Seasons, are not included in complimentary transportation and will meet at Plaza Gali OXXO in Cabo San Lucas
• Cruise guests will also meet at Plaza Gali OXXO, approximately 3–5 minutes walking from the marina exit. Detailed walking directions will be provided with your confirmation message
• Cabo San Lucas cruise arrivals operate using tender boats, which may take additional time depending on port operations. We strongly recommend taking the earliest tender available or booking priority tender service whenever possible
• Guests who miss transportation or arrive late must arrive directly at the agreed meeting location before the activity start time at their own expense
Guests arriving with their own vehicle usually meet at Plaza Gali OXXO in Cabo San Lucas or Mega in San José del Cabo depending on their hotel location. Please let us know in advance which location you prefer so we can provide your exact meeting time and instructions.
What to expect
At Fox Canyon, the hike follows natural stone paths and canyon sections leading toward the Sol de Mayo waterfall. Along the route, the contrast between dry desert terrain and flowing freshwater becomes part of the experience itself.
Once at the waterfall, many guests spend time swimming, relaxing beside the pools, or simply listening to the sound of water moving through the canyon. Later, the experience slows during lunch at a local Baja-style restaurant before returning through the desert landscapes of Baja Sur.
