Renting bicycles at Assateague Island National Seashore is one of the best ways to get to know the Island and it's inhabitants. Protected bike paths line the road, about 6 miles in total. Riding a bike through the National Seashore is one of the best ways to experience all Assateague has to offer; secluded beaches, marsh overlooks, wild horses and a plethora of birds. There is no entrance fee for the National Park when entering on a bicycle.

The Bicycle Rental Stand is located in the Visitor Center Parking lot. Simply head to the Assateague Island Visitor Center and look for our small building adjacent to the parking lot. Parking is free.

What to expect

Rather than riding your vehicle around Assateague State Park and Assateague National Seashore, you can rent a bike and enjoy the fresh air. Bike rentals are self-guided and include helmets and baskets. Riding a bike through the park is one of the best ways to view Assateague's wild horses.
