Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area

Your guide will take you just outside the city to the Historic Columbia River Scenic Byway which runs along side the mighty Columbia River. Your guide will fill you in on the geological history of the River and the region on the way to Historic Hwy 30, the road to the waterfalls. You get to walk right up to some of Oregon's most majestic waterfalls. After that we head into the Hood River wine region for a little wine tasting in the mountains just beneath Mt. Hood. Then after a bit of food and some sips of wine it's time for a visit to Downtown Hood River. Hood River is the wind surfing and kite sailing capital of America. It's a place where the Columbia Gorge gets narrow channeling that wind.. Ideal for those water activities. Downtown is lined with wine tasting rooms, coffee shops, a very fancy GoodWill Boutique and Mikes Ice cream shop, the sign by the register states They are a cash only business and if you don't have cash you can mail them a check.
