After lunch (the famous "stinky noodle" Luosifen), you'll escape the crowds on a picturesque stroll along the Four Lakes, Guilin's glittering "living room" where willow-lined shores, arched bridges, and mirrored reflections of karst peaks create a scene of tranquil beauty. This is where locals relax, exercise, and connect with the water system. Then, pause at a characterful cafe by Ronghu Lake, a favorite local spot to recharge with a fragrant osmanthus latte. Cross bridges with stories of their own, and end at a 1,300-year-old Tang Dynasty gate guarded by an 800-year-old banyan tree. For Summer/Rain Alternative: On hot summer days or during rain, the lakeside walk (12:15-13:45) is replaced with a covered route: Fengdong Cave (natural cool breeze) → Cave Bookstore → Dongzhen Gate (Song Dynasty) → Xiaoyao Tower.
