Volcan de Fuego is known to be the world’s most consistently erupting volcano.Its eruptions can be viewed from the distance when driving to the starting point from Antigua and like clockwork every 15 minutes you can view the smoke bellowing out of the top.

Kaldi & Kapra is located near to the famous Yellow Arch of Santa Catalina, when coming from main square over 5th avenue, facing the arch, before passing under it, turn right and walk to the next corner and you'll find the meeting point on your left. The door, which is wide open, has several signs.

From Antigua to La Soledad: at 07:30 AM Transportation is provided depending on the amount of hikers in the group. Vehicle assigned could be a County bus (25 passengers) or Hiace van (12 passengers). From Antigua, this is an hour drive north to La Soledad Village where adventure begins.
hike at 10:00 AM divided by three stages: - First Stage: from entrance (2,400 masl) to ticket office (2,772 masl) - Second Stage: upon end of the trail (3,400 masl) - Third Stage: arrival to basecamp (3,600 masl) The trail goes through changing ecosystems with views of Fuego Volcano and the valley. Those who wish can take an optional side hike to Volcán de Fuego (extra Q200 cash).
Your basecamp will be in cozy, double-walled wooden cabins with polycarbonate windows allowing you wonderful views. Camp: Features 2 cabins that each accommodate up to 12 hikers with single bunks. Shared-cabins have a lively and social environment. There is no electricity or running water at basecamp, but we provide the best amenities possible at high altitude. Toilet Facilities: The base camp has one basic toilet, and though it’s not luxurious, it’s the most practical solution available at 3,600 meters. Please note there’s no natural water source, we recommend being mindful of waste. Phone reception is unreliable, so this is your chance to disconnect and enjoy the serenity of nature.
Wake up at 03:45 AM for the summit hike. Reach the top around 06:00 AM to enjoy a spectacular sunrise over the Antigua Valley, Pacific Coast, and Ring of Fire. Afterward, descend about 4 hours to the Supply Center and celebrate with a beer, then continue the descent towards La Soledad village
The return ride from La Soledad to Antigua departs at 11:00 AM and arrives around 02:00 PM.
