Built in the 18th century, the Pantheon was originally designed as a church dedicated to St Genevieve. Look up at the amazing dome and you’ll see a fresco of St Genevieve.

Notre-Dame Cathedral of Paris (Pass by)
Explore the world-famous Notre Dame and see its incredible exterior and facade. Hear insightful stories about the flying buttresses, rose windows and the gargoyles. In 2019, a fire devastated the Notre Dame, especially the wooden spire and roof. Thanks to fundraising and rebuilding efforts, the Notre Dame was reopened in 2024 and was beautifully restored.

This charming English language bookshop was opened in 1951 as a modern cornerstone of literary history. A free reading library is open to the public, and the bookshop famously houses writers and artists through its Tumbleweed programme.

The oldest church in the Latin Quarter, Saint Severin Church was named after a devout hermit who lived in the area. The belltower features the oldest church bell in Paris. The future president of France, François Mitterrand, was married in this church.

La Sorbonne (Pass by)
Sorbonne University is the second oldest university in Europe and is one of the most prestigious in France. Founded in the 13th century by Robert de Sorbon, the school initially taught theology for poorer students. It has since welcomed famous professors and alumni over the years, including Marie Curie, Simone de Beauvoir and Jean-Paul Sartre.

After your tour concludes, step inside the Pantheon and explore at your own pace. Discover this iconic symbol of the French Revolution. See the final resting place of celebrated figures from the 18th century up to today, including Voltaire and Josephine Baker. Look up at the amazing dome, which is actually ingeniously designed as three domes fit into one.
