    Deoria Tal Lake

    Deoria Tal is a pristine high-altitude lake famous for its crystal-clear reflections of the majestic Chaukhamba peaks. Located at an altitude of around 2,438 meters (7,999 ft). The lake is reached through an easy 2.5–3 km trek from Sari Village near Ukhimath. The trail passes through charming Himalayan forests filled with rhododendrons and oak trees, offering a peaceful escape into nature. On clear mornings, visitors can witness stunning reflections of snow-covered peaks like Chaukhamba, Kedarnath, Neelkanth, and Kalanag mirrored on the calm waters of the lake. Deoria Tal also holds deep mythological significance in Hindu tradition. According to legends from the Mahabharata, this is believed to be the place where Yaksha questioned Yudhishthira during the famous “Yaksha Prashna” episode.
