By nine in the morning your speedboat is already racing across the Andaman Sea, and the limestone giants of Phi Phi start rising out of the water. In one day you swim in Pileh Lagoon, where cliffs close in around you, visit the beach at Maya Bay, glide past the Viking Cave, snorkel at Phi Phi Don, stop at Monkey Beach and slow down with a last swim on Khai Island. The route moves from the famous to the quiet, so the day never feels like a checklist. Lunch is included, so you can spend the hours in the water and on the sand instead of looking for somewhere to eat. A minivan picks you up at your hotel and takes you back in the evening, and an English-speaking guide keeps the day running smoothly for an international group of up to about 40 people. Bring swimwear, sunscreen and a camera
The minivan driver meets you at the entrance of your hotel between 7:00 and 8:00 AM. Your exact time depends on the area and is sent to you on WhatsApp the evening before, so keep your phone on and wait in the lobby 10 minutes early. From the hotel the van takes the group to Phuket Town Pier, where registration is done and the speedboat leaves at 9:00 AM
The speedboat slides into Pileh Lagoon, a sheltered green bay on Phi Phi Leh where tall limestone cliffs wrap around the water. The surface inside is usually calm, so this is the moment to jump in and swim with the rock walls rising all around you. Keep your camera close, because this is one of the most photogenic corners of the whole day
From the lagoon the boat carries on to Maya Bay, the beach framed by cliffs that became known around the world through the film The Beach. You walk around Phi Phi Leh at your own pace and spend time on the sand with the limestone walls standing on three sides. For many guests this is the stop they came for, so there is time to take photos and simply look around
Next the boat slows down in front of the Viking Cave, a large cave in the cliffs of Phi Phi Leh, known for the swiftlet nests that are collected from its walls. You do not go inside. You look at the cave from the water and take photos of the rock face from the boat.
A short ride along the coast brings you to Monkey Beach, a small cove where wild macaques live in the trees behind the sand. You may see them from the boat or on the shore. Please do not feed the monkeys and keep food and bags closed
The final stop is Khai Island, a small island with a quiet sandy beach and shallow water that is easy to enter. Swim, lie on the sand, or watch the boats come and go before the ride back to Phuket. This is the slow end of the day, after the busier stops
