Situated in Ninh Binh Province, 100 km south of Hanoi, this is one of Northern Vietnam’s most spectacular landscapes. A breathtaking valley of emerald rice paddies and towering limestone karsts has earned it the moniker ‘Halong Bay on land’, while its name actually refers to three local caves. The experience is enhanced by a small group ride on eco-friendly e-bikes, offering an intimate and sustainable way to explore the countryside. We can opt for a walk up the 500 stone steps that lead to Hang Mua Cave, where a panoramic view awaits or participate in a calming morning tea meditation accompanied by the soothing sounds of singing bowls.
We then reunite to visit 13th-century Thai Vi Temple and the atmospheric, three-tiered Bich Dong Pagoda, a temple within a cave nestled into a limestone mountain. An authentic home-hosted shared lunch with a family in Dam Khe Trong Village is followed by a peaceful group boat ride, including a signature tea break served on board as we drift through an enchanting riverscape.
