The first sightseeing place in Wayanad will be Pookode Lake. Pookode Lake is one of Wayanad’s most scenic natural attractions, set amidst lush evergreen forests and rolling hills near Vythiri. This freshwater lake is known for its serene ambience, cool climate, and rich biodiversity, including blue water lilies and freshwater fish unique to the region. Visitors can enjoy pedal boating, which is the most popular activity, offering peaceful views of the surrounding forests. A nature trail around the lake that is ideal for light walking and photography.

Lakkidi View Point is one of Wayanad’s most iconic viewpoints, offering sweeping panoramas of the mist-covered valleys, lush rainforests, and the winding Thamarassery Ghat road. Located at one of the highest points in Wayanad, Lakkidi is often called the “Gateway to Wayanad”, as it sits right at the entrance to the district when arriving from Calicut.
