Siesta Key Kayak & Paddleboard Rentals | Midnight Pass Beach

Sarasota, USA

2 hours 30 minutes (approximately)
Offered in: English

What makes this experience unique is where you get to paddle — the Jim Neville Marine Preserve and out toward Midnight Pass, one of Siesta Key’s most beautiful natural areas. With a self-guided kayak or paddleboard rental, you’re not locked into a tour schedule, so you can truly take your time and soak it all in.

Some guests love lingering in the mangroves, gliding through calm water and exploring little side areas. Others want more time posted up at the beach shelling, swimming, or just relaxing in the sun. The best part is: it’s completely up to you.

This area is also a favorite for wildlife watching. Keep your eyes open for dolphins cruising through, manatees (seasonal), and plenty of bird life along the shoreline and mangroves. We’ll have your gear ready to go and provide a map plus local tips so you can choose the best route for the day’s conditions and the kind of adventure you’re looking for.

What to expect

Launch right from Turtle Beach on Siesta Key and paddle the calm, protected waters of Little Sarasota Bay — including Midnight Pass, the historic inlet recently reopened by Hurricane Helene and Milton after being closed for over 40 years.
Choose a kayak or paddleboard, get a quick orientation and trail map from our team, and explore at your own pace. The route from Turtle Beach takes you through shaded mangrove tunnels, past the Jim Neville Marine Preserve, and down to Palmer Point Beach at Midnight Pass — one of the most secluded white-sand beaches on Siesta Key, only reachable by water or a long walk.

Watch for manatees, dolphins, sea turtles, rays, and wading birds along the way. Pull up on a quiet sandbar, swim at the pass, or simply paddle and take it in. This is the same launch point used by guided tours, but on a rental you set the pace and the route.

We provide top-notch equipment for all ability levels. Choose a single or double kayak, or grab a paddleboard. Every rental includes your paddle, life jacket, and a map of the best areas to explore. Need to keep your phone and keys safe? We can also loan a dry bag for your valuables.

We’ll have your gear ready when you arrive—all you have to do is paddle. If you have any questions or concerns, just let us know. We’re here to help you have the best day ever on the water.

First-time paddlers or those new to the area may prefer our guided tour for a naturalist-led experience. We offer those daily!
