A water performance inspired by the traditional Joseon-era boating entertainment, seonyunori, takes place every evening at Banghwasuryujeong Pavilion and Yongyeon Pond in Suwon Hwaseong Fortress.
Set against Yongyeon Pond beneath Banghwasuryujeong Pavilion, a nighttime performance combining light, water, and sound unfolds after dark.
A traditional performance themed around the era of King Jeongjo takes place around Banghwasuryujeong Pavilion and Yongyeon Pond for a limited time during the fall season.

[On-water Performance ‘Seonyumong: King's Dream’ ] Seonyumong, the signature nighttime water performance of the Suwon Hwaseong Festival, is an atmospheric evening performance staged on Yongyeon Pond and in front of Banghwasuryujeong Pavilion, one of the most scenic spots of Suwon Hwaseong, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Based on the intriguing idea, “What if King Jeongjo dreamed of becoming an immortal and wandering through Yongyeon Pond?”, the performance unfolds a moving story that transcends 230 years, as vibrant media art, water, light, and music come together over the tranquil pond and fortress walls. [Suwon Fantasy: ‘Yajo(夜操) Ticket] The Suwon Hwaseong Festival is Suwon’s signature historical and cultural festival, held at Suwon Hwaseong Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Inspired by King Jeongjo’s eight-day royal procession to Hwaseong, the festival presents diverse programs where history, culture, and the performing arts come together.
