What to expect

Discover the flavors and traditions of the Dominican Republic during this hands-on cooking experience. Learn how to prepare Sancocho Borracho, one of the country's most iconic dishes.

You'll cook a rich sancocho using beef, pork, smoked pork chops, and chicken, combined with local root vegetables including yam, cassava (yuca), taro (yautía), and green plantains. Our local chef will guide you through every step while sharing the history and traditions behind this beloved recipe.

As the sancocho simmers, enjoy the rhythms of bachata and merengue, making this more than a cooking class—it's a true Dominican cultural experience.

After cooking, savor your homemade sancocho served with traditional Dominican white rice and fresh avocado, followed by a local dessert and a tasting of Dominican spirits.

A comfortable minibus displaying the Taíno Gourmet Cooking Lab logo will pick you up from your hotel about one hour before the experience. At the end of the evening, you'll return to your hotel before midnight with unforgettable memories and a true taste of the Dominican Republic.
