What to expect

Your journey begins with a convenient pickup at your hotel in Phong Nha by an experienced local driver. Instead of taking a direct transfer, this route offers the opportunity to explore important historical sites in Central Vietnam along the way.

The drive from Phong Nha to Hue takes approximately 6 to 7 hours including sightseeing stops. Traveling by private car allows you to relax, enjoy the countryside views, and stop for photos whenever you wish.

The first highlight of the trip is the famous Vinh Moc Tunnels in Quang Tri Province. Built during the Vietnam War, this underground tunnel system sheltered local residents from heavy bombings between 1965 and 1972.

Stretching nearly 2 kilometers underground, the tunnels include living areas, kitchens, meeting rooms, and even maternity spaces. Visitors can walk through the narrow passages to better understand the resilience and daily life of Vietnamese people during wartime.

Vinh Moc Tunnels is considered one of the most impressive historical sites in Central Vietnam and attracts travelers interested in history and culture.

After visiting the tunnels, continue the journey to Hien Luong Bridge, a symbolic landmark located on the Ben Hai River. This bridge once marked the division between North and South Vietnam along the 17th parallel during the Vietnam War.

Today, Hien Luong Bridge stands as a peaceful historical monument where visitors can learn more about Vietnam’s reunification history. The area also features museums, memorials, and panoramic river views perfect for photography.

Leaving Quang Tri behind, the private car continues south toward Hue, the former imperial capital of Vietnam. Along the route, travelers can enjoy views of local villages, rice fields, and rural landscapes typical of Central Vietnam.

Upon arrival in Hue, the driver will drop you off directly at your hotel, ensuring a safe and comfortable end to the journey.
