Your group gets a private, guide-led day built around the experiences in this itinerary. The tour begins from San Pedro. At Altun Ha, explore the plazas and major temples with a guide who connects the archaeology to the people and trade routes that shaped this Maya city. For cave tubing, follow your guide on the forest approach, receive a safety briefing, and float through the underground river while looking at the limestone formations overhead. On the zipline course, trained guides handle the safety setup as you move between platforms and see the forest canopy from above.
Allow about 8 hours for the full experience. This is a private experience for your booked group. bottled water, lunch, and activity equipment are included. The experience is not wheelchair accessible. It is not recommended for pregnant travelers and travelers with back problems.
What's Included
Meeting and pickup
No island hotel pickup. Travel independently to the San Pedro or Caye Caulker water taxi terminal, check in, and board on your own. Buy your ticket unless the option says Water Taxi Included. Meet your guide outside the Belize City terminal exit.
What to expect
Continue about 75 minutes to the cave-tubing and zipline area. After a safety briefing and equipment fitting, ride the ziplines through the tropical forest canopy, then enjoy a Belizean lunch of rice and beans with chicken.
Receive your helmet with headlamp, life jacket, and tube, then hike about 20 minutes through the rainforest. Your guide points out local plants and explains the importance of the caves to the ancient Maya. After a safety briefing, float through the cave system for about 40 minutes; timing may vary with river conditions.
Mainland activities and transportation take about 8 hours. The Water Taxi Transfer option requires about 1.5 hours each way between San Pedro and Belize City. A local flight takes about 15 minutes each way; airfare is not included.

- Guests are required to take either local municipal flight from Ambergris Caye to Belize City Municipal airstrip or catch the water taxi to Belize City. While the tour is available for guests on Ambergris Caye, the cost does not include the transfer to Belize City from the Island.
