Explore Actun Tunichil Muknal with a licensed guide who leads you through the jungle approach, river crossings, the cave entrance, and the protected Maya ceremonial chambers. The experience combines archaeology with an active wet-cave journey: expect swimming, walking on uneven rock, climbing, and close guidance around ancient pottery and human remains. About five hours are spent at the ATM site within an approximately nine-hour mainland tour. Meeting and pickup
No island hotel pickup. Travel independently to the San Pedro or Caye Caulker water taxi terminal, check in, and board on your own. Buy your ticket unless the option says Water Taxi Included. Meet your guide outside the Belize City terminal exit.

Actun Tunichil Muknal is a demanding guided cave expedition. After the road transfer, hike through the forest, cross streams, enter the cave, and spend up to five hours completing the approach, underground route, archaeological interpretation, safety procedures, and return to the activity base. Travelers must be comfortable with wet, slippery, and uneven conditions and must follow the licensed guide’s instructions.
