Asahiyama Zoo is located in Asahikawa, Hokkaido. It is the northernmost zoo in Japan and is now the most visited zoo in Japan. Who said that if you go to the zoo in winter, most of the animals will hibernate in groups behind closed doors? Visiting Asahiyama Zoo in Hokkaido on a snowy day is also a lot of fun! Clumsy little raccoons crawl overhead and make faces, curious seals swim up and down on glass pillars, and monkeys snuggle up to each other to keep warm.
