    Fukuyama Castle stands right beside Fukuyama Station and was completed in 1622 by Mizuno Katsushige, a relative of the Tokugawa shoguns. Its reconstructed keep houses a museum of local history, while the grounds preserve original Edo-period structures such as the Sujigane-gomon gate and the Fushimi turret, making it a fitting final stop before returning to the station.
