Create your own Horn Charm in San Gregorio Armeno Naples

1 hour 30 minutes (approximately)

Immerse yourself in the rich tradition of Neapolitan craftsmanship by creating your own 'O Curniciello' — the famous lucky red horn — in a historic workshop located in San Gregorio Armeno, in the heart of Naples.

This hands-on experience offers a unique opportunity to work with terracotta under the guidance of master craftsmen, who will accompany you through every step of the process. After shaping your horn, you can enjoy an authentic Neapolitan coffee as you devote yourself to the finishing touch : the custom painting of an already baked piece, which will reflect all your creativity.

Since terracotta requires technical drying and cooking time, you can immediately take with you a ready-made horn painted by you. The specific piece that you will have modelled during the workshop can be shipped directly to your home on request (shipping costs charged to the customer) or taken away raw. A perfect way to always carry with you a vibrant piece of Naples culture!"

What to expect

Immerse yourself in the magic of San Gregorio Armeno, the world-famous nativity street, for an experience that combines art, history and superstition. You will enter one of the most historic shops of the city to make with your own hands the undisputed symbol of Naples: the Corno Portafortuna.

Neapolitan welcome: We will start in the best way, with a real Neapolitan coffee and the welcome of the Master Craftsman.

Journey through History: You will discover the legendary origins of the "Curniciello", from the myths of ancient Greece and Pompeii to medieval traditions that make this object a powerful amulet against bad luck.

You'll get your hands dirty with clay! Under the Master's Guide, you will shape your own terracotta horn. You will learn why it must be red as fire and rigorously handmade to absorb beneficial powers.
Since terracotta requires drying time, you will paint an already baked horn to complete the work and take it with you right away. The piece created by you, if you want, can be sent to your home after cooking (shipping costs excluded).

It is not a simple ceramics course, but a rite of initiation into Neapolitan culture.
