Travel from Bangkok to Kanchanaburi for a meaningful full-day tour focused on the River Kwai, WWII history, and the historic Death Railway. Start the day with pickup or a meeting point in Bangkok, then travel by air-conditioned van to Kanchanaburi. Visit the Kanchanaburi War Cemetery and the Thailand-Burma Railway Centre to learn about the Allied prisoners of war and Asian laborers who built the railway during World War II.
Continue to the famous Bridge on the River Kwai for photos and time to walk around the landmark. Then board a local train for a ride along part of the historic Death Railway, passing countryside, river views, and scenic sections of the original route.

Your guide will provide historical context before you continue to the museum. Your tour commences with a visit to the meticulously maintained War Cemetery, a solemn place of rest for around 9,000 Allied soldiers. These brave individuals tragically lost their lives while toiling on the infamous "Death Railway," a project the Japanese envisioned extending to the Burmese border. This site stands as a solemn testament to the sacrifices made during this dark chapter in history.
