Seoul to DMZ (70 min)
1. Imjingak Park (50 min) Built to console those separated from family in the North, this symbolic park features monuments, memorials, and poignant reminders of Korea’s division. It is a key stop to understand the emotional impact of the conflict. 2. Mangbaedan Altar (10 min) Located within Imjingak Park, this ceremonial site is where separated families pay tribute to their ancestors in the North, especially during major holidays. It symbolizes longing, remembrance, and hope for reunification. 3. The Wrecked Locomotive (10 min) A dramatic relic of the Korean War, this train was bombed and derailed near the DMZ. DMZ Entry: Security and ID Check (15 min) Begin your journey by passing through the official DMZ checkpoint, where entry into this restricted area is strictly controlled. This moment marks the transition into one of the most heavily guarded borders in the world. DMZ Theater (15 min) Watch a short documentary film that provides historical background on the Korean War, the division of the peninsula, and ongoing efforts toward peace and unification. It sets the stage for the significance of what you are about to see. The 3rd Infiltration Tunnel (60 min) Discovered in 1978, this tunnel is one of four known passages dug by North Korea with the intent of secretly invading the South. Dora Observatory (60 min) From this vantage point, look across the Demilitarized Zone into North Korea. On clear days, you can spot the North Korean propaganda village and even see Kaesong City through the binoculars provided.
