Leave after Breakfast to Antsirabe. Stop in Ambatolampy which is known as a source of aluminium, and then a short visit of the manufacturing workshop. Arrival in Antsirabe or the place of salt, an elegant city well known as the centre of all industries in Madagascar. Tour of the Town of Water or Town of Rickshaws : so called because of its numerous thermal springs and the existence of two lakes and its thousands of rickshaws. Visit of a workshop where they make miniatures from recycles materials
Visit the town and the market Visit local craft workshops. Drive to Miandrivazo crossing the sceneries of High Land, the rice green field contrast to the red Malagasy houses and the blue sky. Carry on to the west Wide sweeping grasslands
Miandrivazo – Masiakapy – Tsiribihina River – Nosinapela Waterfall – Begidro Village – Camping Transfer to Masiakapy, then start the peaceful Tsiribihina River journey by zebu cart and canoe. Admire stunning landscapes and observe wildlife such as herons, parrots, and chameleons. Stop at the beautiful Nosinapela waterfall for a refreshing swim. Continue to Begidro village for camping on a sandbank, dinner by the fire, and sunset views.
A slow cruise along the river with a lunch break under a mango tree. In the afternoon, camping on a sandbank near a traditional Malagasy village with dinner by the fire. At night, enjoy a star-filled sky, peaceful atmosphere, and restful sleep.
The final part of the pirogue trip passes through rice fields before reaching Tsarahotana Village around 10am. After farewells to the boatmen, we drive through small villages to Tsimafana and cross by big ferry to Belo sur Tsiribihina for lunch. In the afternoon, a 4.5-hour off-road drive leads to Andadoany, where we take a small ferry.
Today is all about the impressive Tsingy. It is a special formation of limestone. The park has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1990. Discover the great Tsingy in the National Park: Succession of sharp limestone peaks, carved out by wind and water -60m high Real maze of gorges ad faults Outstanding wildlife and plant life. µ Hiking in the park requires good physical condition. Otherwise, there is the possibility to visit the small Tsingy near the village - for some who are not so good at hiking.
Enjoy a peaceful pirogue ride along the Manambolo River, gliding between impressive cliffs and lush scenery. Discover caves, limestone formations, and observe local wildlife along the riverbanks. The tranquil atmosphere offers a perfect introduction to the region’s natural beauty. After the ride, continue with the visit of the majestic Tsingy de Bemaraha.
Back to Morondava on the track: through great dry forests Stops at the famous “Baobab Avenue” at sunset. You will cross the Tsiribihina River by ferry and then continue by car. Morondava is situated in the heart of Sakalava territory, it is known for the royal sculpted tombs of the Menabe ancestors and for being the gateway to the Avenue of the Baobabs, one of the most photographed places in Madagascar..
The journey from Morondava to Antsirabe takes you through changing landscapes, from the baobab-studded plains to the cooler highlands. Along the way, pass rural villages, rice fields, and scenic valleys. Experience the contrast between western Madagascar’s dry climate and the fertile central region. Arrival in Antsirabe, known for its thermal springs and colonial charm.
Begin the day with a city tour of Antsirabe, visiting its handicraft workshops and exploring the town’s charm. Then drive through scenic highland landscapes on the way back to Antananarivo. Depending on your flight schedule, enjoy some free time to explore the capital. Group flight passengers will be transferred to the airport in the late evening.
Breakfast in your hotel, short city tour including the visit of the Queen’s Palace in the city and shopping at the handcraft market. Transfer to the airport for the international Flight. Antananarivo which means "The City of Thousand": the birth of the history of Madagascar and the city itself. That fortified village of XVIIth century which is keeping its gates of stone, beautiful traditional houses, is the place of birth of Madagascar history and Antananarivo itself where the famous king of Antananarivo could manage to unify all malagasy kingdoms.
