Take the morning trip to visit Independence Palace, also known at the Reunification palace, was built on the sight of the former Norodom palace. The Independence palace is a widely known landmark of Ho Chi Minh City and was designed by the architect Ngo Viet Thu
Continue seeing the beautiful structures from the French Colonial times such as the Notre Dame Cathedral. It was built in the late 1880s by French colonists, is one of the few remaining strongholds of Catholicism in the largely Buddhist Vietnam. Located in Paris Square, the name Notre Dame was given after the installation of the statue ‘Peaceful Notre Dame’ in 1959.
The Saigon Central Post Office was constructed from 1886-1891 and depicts classic elements of Gothic, Renaissance and French colonial design. While some mistakenly credit Gustave Eiffel, the famed designer of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, it was actually designed by French architect Alfred Foulhoux.
Followed by the remarkable site of the War Remnants Museum the museum has a vast display of the both the Indochina wars. The current location of the War Remnants Museum used to be the building of the US Information Agency. Established in 1975, not long after the reunification of Vietnam, the museum has initially named a gallery of American-puppet crimes. Despite its name, the museum displays war crimes committed by Americans stationed in Vietnam and the French. The museum's display content ranges from the beginning of the first Indochina war to the end of the second Indochina war.
Depart for Cu Chi tunnel, the trip will take approximately one and a half hours bus driving. Upon arrival, before exploring the tunnels, you will have some short introduction followed by introductory video about how the tunnels were constructed and how the people survived in the harsh conditions of the war time. Then, spend your time to explore the remaining area and tunnel systems which included the special constructed living areas with kitchens, bedrooms side by side with other martial facilities like storage, weapons factories, field hospitals, and command centers helping whoever lives inside the tunnels meet their basic needs. Besides, there are also many hidden trap doors and dangerous traps within the maze-like tunnels for security purpose during the war. Afterward, special tea and cassava (guerilla’s food during the war) will be served. Break time for relax or time for those who want to try act as a soilder.
After Cu Chi tunnel, group return to Saigon. And around 7:00pm to 7:30pm group arrive in hotels. End of the trip.
