This cooking class will offer you the possibility to taste real Maltese specialties that you will have the chance to make by yourself. It will be accompanied by tips about cooking but also about the Maltese way of life. You will be able to repeat what you learned thanks to recipes that you will take home with you.
You will have the opportunity to go to the centre of Victoria to pick up some of our ingredients. And finally, you will have time to enjoy the lunch that you made at the end.

Meeting and pickup
We will meet guests at Maldonado Bistro. Please come from our main entrance on Mons. Luigi Vella Street.
What to expect
After some preparation is done we will go for a walk to the market centre to purchase ingredients we still need for the cooking class. The walk can include a stop at a fishmonger, a cheese maker, and a butcher. All depends on the recipes on the day.
We then return back into our fully airconditioned and equipped kitchen to roll up our sleeves and get cooking together.
Your host shares some cooking from his childhood memories. You will be given the opportunity to discover and make some traditional Maltese recipes. This is a hands-on activity where guests will be expected to participate in the preparation of some genuine home-made cooking, savoury snacks such as pastizzi, a Gozitan ftira, and traditional nougat.
After cooking we will enjoy the fruit of our endeavours as a lunch accompanied with some water and a glass of wine or beer.
Guests will be given a copy of all recipes as well as a food souvenir to take home.
