We leave Plaza de Conde Casal (Madrid) at 8:30 in the morning accompanied by our guide. Our first stop will be Segóbriga, one of the most important Roman cities in the interior of Spain, which maintains some of its most characteristic structures, such as the forum, the thermal baths, the theatre and the amphitheatre.
We will continue to one of the greatest attractions in the area, the Lapis Specularis mines. The Romans exploited this material, which was mainly used as window glass and exported throughout the empire as a true luxury item, generating great wealth throughout the mining area.
We will have free time in the city of Huete to eat.
Finally, we will visit the mosaics of the Roman Villa of Noheda. In this villa you will find the most impressive and extensive historical mosaic preserved from the Roman Empire, with an area of about 300 square metres.
After this last visit, we will return to Madrid, where we will arrive at around 7:30 p.m.

Roman city of Segobriga. This archaeological site is one of the most important and best preserved Roman remains in Spain. The Roman city of Segobriga was the commercial and economic center of the mining of Lapis Specularis. Lapis Specularis is a variety of gypsum that forms sheets of glass and was used as the first window panes in history. The Lapis Specularis became highly demanded by the richest families in the empire, and economic growth allowed the monumentalization of the city. There were only seven Roman cities in Hispania with a Theatre, Amphitheater and Circus, and Segóbriga was one of them. The city's economy collapsed when the technique of making sheet glass was developed and demand for the Lapis Specularis ceased.
Lapis Specularis mines. We will visit some of those mines that made Segobriga and its region great. Here we will discover how this crystal was extracted from its natural site, how they worked in the mines and how the miners who worked there lived.
We can contemplate one of the largest mosaics in the entire Roman Empire. Although it is still in the recovery and conditioning phase, we can observe the mosaic in its entirety
