We depart from Mexico City en route to Querétaro. Visit to the city of Querétaro, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where we will explore the Aqueduct, the former Convent of the Cross, and the Historic Center. We will then continue to San Miguel de Allende to discover this peaceful city, recently declared a World Heritage Site, once home to the famous comedian "Cantinflas" and a residence for artists and intellectuals.
Highlights include the Parish of San Miguel Arcángel, the Convent of La Concepción, the Church of San Francisco, and the Allende Institute. The city also offers a wide variety of artisan shops, cafés, and restaurants.
Departure to Dolores Hidalgo, where in 1810 Father Miguel Hidalgo gave the famous “Grito” that marked the beginning of Mexico’s War of Independence. Here you can visit the house-museum of this national hero, and it's also the birthplace of the famous composer José Alfredo Jiménez
We continue to Guanajuato, a UNESCO World Heritage City and the annual host of the Cervantino International Festival. In the afternoon, we’ll enjoy discovering this beautiful city, full of alleys and plazas, with fascinating sites such as the University, Juárez Theater, the Alley of the Kiss, and the house-museum of muralist Diego Rivera, husband of Frida Kahlo. Its network of underground streets and tunnels is unique in the country. Other highlights include the house of Jorge Negrete, the Don Quixote Museum, and the famous Mummy Museum.
We will depart for Zacatecas, a beautiful mining city declared a World Heritage Site, known for its stunning façades carved from pink quarry stone. Its cathedral is the most outstanding example of Mexican Baroque architecture. We’ll enjoy a panoramic view of the city from Cerro de la Bufa, followed by a cable car ride down and an educational visit to the El Edén Mine. In the evening, you may optionally join a lively callejoneada—a traditional musical alleyway tour with tambora—and even dance at a nightclub located inside a mine.
Departure to the city of Guadalajara, birthplace of Mariachi and Tequila—two of Mexico’s most iconic symbols around the world. We will visit the main points of interest: the Cabañas Cultural Institute with its murals by Orozco, the Degollado Theater, the Cathedral, the Rotunda of Illustrious Men, the city’s plazas, and the Government Palace.
Departure from Guadalajara to visit Tequila, the land of agave. We will tour a distillery, see the entire production process, and enjoy a tequila tasting.
We will visit Pátzcuaro, which means “the gateway to heaven” in the Purépecha language. This city is famous for its colonial beauty and the originality of its traditions and local population. Located on the shores of Lake Pátzcuaro, it offers attractions such as the miraculous Basilica of Our Lady of Health, the "House of Eleven Patios," the historic downtown, and Janitzio Island. In the central arcades of Pátzcuaro, you can enjoy a wide variety of cafés and restaurants serving both traditional and international cuisine.
A UNESCO World Heritage City, Morelia is known for its vibrant student atmosphere and magnificent colonial buildings made of pink quarry stone, including the Cathedral, the Government Palace, Clavijero Palace, the Main Square, the traditional candy market, and the Aqueduct.
