    Prison Island - Changuu Private Island

    Begin your journey with a visit to Prison Island, located just half an hour from Stone Town. Famous for its giant tortoises, which have been residing there since 1919 after being brought from Aldabra in Seychelles, the island is also a perfect spot for snorkeling and sunbathing. Once a quarantine station, it later became the site where the British planned to build a prison in the 1890s, although the prison was never actually used.

    Next, return to Stone Town for a historical walk through this UNESCO World Heritage site. Explore landmarks like the Old Market (dating back to 1903), which is divided into sections for fish, meat, vegetables, fruits, and spices.
