Atlas Studios is a film studio located about 5 kilometers west of Ouarzazate, Morocco. Situated amid desert and mountain landscapes, many movie sets remain on site, making it a popular tourist attraction with guided tours available. Founded in 1983 by entrepreneur Mohamed Belghmi, the studio has expanded over the years thanks to the region’s stable climate and its versatile environment, which can convincingly replicate diverse natural settings from around the world.

3Ksar of Ait-Ben-Haddou
Ait Ben Haddou is a Heritage Site located in the foothills of the High Atlas Mountains, within Ouarzazate Province. It is the most iconic ksar (fortified village) in the Ounila Valley and a prime example of traditional pre-Saharan earthen architecture in southern Morocco. Built mainly in the 17th century, the ksar features clustered homes—ranging from simple dwellings to castle-like structures—enclosed by fortified walls. It also includes communal spaces such as a mosque, public square, granaries, a caravanserai, and both Muslim and Jewish cemeteries. Historically, it was a vital stop on trans-Saharan trade routes connecting ancient Sudan to Marrakesh. Renowned for preserving its original architecture, Ait Ben Haddou uses traditional materials like earth and wood that harmonize with the natural landscape. Despite challenges like depopulation and ongoing maintenance, conservation efforts led by CERKAS and other heritage organizations have helped maintain its authenticity and integrity.
