    A short boat ride from Stone Town, Prison Island is home to Aldabra tortoises, imported from Seychelles in 1919. Just half an hour away, it’s a great spot for snorkeling and sunbathing. The island was once a quarantine station before the British built a prison for Stone Town in the 1890s, although the prison was never used. Today, visitors can explore the historic remains and enjoy the island’s natural beauty.
