On Friday and Saturday, traditional samba schools compete fiercely for the top spots and a coveted place in the Special Group for the following year.
SPECIAL GROUP PARADES – February 15, 16 & 17, 2026
The highlight of Rio Carnival: the city’s best samba schools battle for the championship title. Each night, four schools deliver spectacular, unforgettable parades.
CHAMPIONS PARADE – February 21, 2026
A thrilling finale! The six best Special Group schools return to the Sambadrome without the pressure of judges. The result: a vibrant, energetic show that celebrates the very best of Rio Carnival.

- Carnival tickets are digital. The Customer Service Center will provide all instructions and is available for any assistance.
- Sector 9 tickets guarantee assigned seats. Seat selection is not possible; seats are allocated based on availability. Guests in the same booking will be seated together.
- Personalized bags can be picked up in person at the main entrance of the Sugarloaf Cable Car Park (Av. Pasteur, 520 – Urca, Rio de Janeiro – RJ). Pickup is available from February 11 to 17 and on February 20 and 21, from 10 AM to 7 PM. Look for the C2Rio team on site.
- Carnival schedules have not yet been officially announced; traditionally, the Access Group parades begin at 9 p.m., and the Special Group and Champions Parade parades begin at 10 p.m.

- Important: Please read the tour description carefully and select the date you wish to attend. The Special Group parades (February 15, 16 & 17) are the most popular, showcasing Rio’s top samba schools.

- Special Group (February 15, 16 & 17): the very best of Rio’s samba schools. The most famous names deliver breathtaking parades in a fierce competition for the championship.
- Champions’ Parade (February 21): the top 6 schools from the Special Group return for a victory show, without the pressure of competition – pure celebration and joy.
