It is renowned for its breathtaking scenery and diverse landscapes, including lush rainforests, expansive heathlands, moorlands, and stunning alpine desert zones. Trekkers experience a wide range of ecosystems, offering a comprehensive journey through Kilimanjaro's natural beauty.
Compared to some of the more popular routes like Marangu and Machame, Lemosho typically has fewer trekkers, providing a quieter and more serene trekking experience.
The longer duration (usually 7-8 days) and gradual ascent profile of Lemosho contribute to a higher success rate in reaching the summit. This route allows for better acclimatization, reducing the risk of altitude-related issues.
Lemosho passes through remote and less-traveled areas of Kilimanjaro, offering opportunities to spot wildlife such as elephants, buffalo, and antelope, as well as a variety of unique flora.
The route approaches the summit from the west, providing stunning views of Kilimanjaro's western slopes and the Shira Plateau.
