4Bachkovo Monastery
After your lunch at “the Waterfall Restaurant” with its excellent traditional cuisine, visit Bachkovo Monastery. Beautifully located in the Rhodope Mountains, it is situated on the right from the Valley of Chepelarska River,andone of most important monasteries of the Bulgarian Orthodox Churcho, This National Monument, like Nesebar, is also a heritage of Unesco. It conserves a huge number of i very precious examples paintings, from the 11th to 14th centuries.

5Assenova krepost (Asen's Fortress)
Continue your journey into the impressive Rhodopi Mountains and follow the winding road up where you find Fortress of Asen standing on a rocky ridge. The Fort was built in the 6th century during the rule of the Byzantine Emperor Justinian the Great and the fort had an important strategic function during the Middle Ages. Ruined after the Ottoman conquest in the 14th century, only the authentic church survived. Enjoy the great panoramic view.
