What to expect

Set off with a visit to Prison Island, just half an hour from Stone Town. Known for its giant tortoises, which have been living there since 1919 after being imported from Aldabra Seychelles, the island offers a great spot for snorkeling and sunbathing. It was once a quarantine station before the British built the Stone Town prison in the 1890s, although the prison was never used.

Then, return to Stone Town for a historical walk through this UNESCO World Heritage site. Visit landmarks like the Old Market (dating back to 1903), which is divided into sections for fish, meat, vegetables, fruits, and spices. Explore sites such as the House of Wonders (National Museum), Tippu Tip House, the former English Club (Africa House), and the Old Fort. Wander through the charming alleys with their unique doors and wooden balconies, and stop by the Palace Museum, Old Dispensary, and the Former Slave Market ( Optional )
